In my experience, there was a cleaner removal with the former (but it could be I just got the hang of using the wax). I’d appreciate if there was a product to clean the wax that falls on the sides of the waxer.

Great product! It warms the wax fast and once the temperature is adjusted to the desired temperature it won’t burn you. I love the fact that the temperature is adjustable for this very reason. It also includes a lot of wax and it is easy to use.
